Point of View:
So immediately after Paul lists the Armor of God, he tells us to “pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.” He also says; “With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people”. (Ephesians 6:18) Although is was not a part of the armor Paul listed, in verse 18 prayer acts as the thread that ties it altogether. Pursuing God through prayer is what allows us to put on the armor and combine the pieces together. If you are a believer in Christ, prayer is how you can stay in touch with God. Prayer helps us to better understand who God is, what He can do and how gracious and loving He really is. So now that we know what all the pieces are, let us spend some time in prayer today. Let’s fully equip the Armor of God and stand strong.
Prayer Points:
• Thank God for being such a loving and gracious Father who is always willing to listen.
• Strap The Belt of Truth around your waist. Commit yourself to making Jesus alone, the foundation of your life. Stand strong and know that you can resist the foundations of this world.
• Place The Breastplate of Righteousness over your heart. Declare that Jesus is your righteous Savior and through Him you will be able to fight any battle and stand victorious against the enemy. (Satan)
• Slide the Shoes Ready to Preach the Gospel on. Ask God for boldness as we share the gospel with our friends and family. God’s word is “a light unto our path” so ask that you would be able to walk by faith and not question His will.
• Take up The Shield of Faith. Thank God for giving us what we need in order to defend ourselves from the flaming arrows of the Devil. Rely on God’s Power.
• Place The Helmet of Salvation upon your head. Thank God for sending His Son, Jesus to die on the Cross for your sins. For through faith in Him, we can be saved.
• Take up The Sword of The Spirit. Thank God for writing His 66 book love letter (the Bible) to us. Pray for wisdom as you apply God’s Word to your life’s situations and daily temptations.
• Pray for all the Lord’s People. Ask that God would bless us with a never ceasing passion to read His word.
The Word:
And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. - Ephesians 6:18
I Want to challenge you to print this out, and pray the Armor on Daily! Now the second Challenge, or "Daily Double" Id encourage you to do is; Memorizing Ephesians 6:10-20. A good passage to remember as we talk with our Father in prayer and pray on the armor.
